Maureen Arnold

Competitive & Recreational Coach

Maureen Arnold joins the Marlins this year after a successful season at the Coveleigh Club. Maureen is a native to Westchester County with a long history of diving success both as a competitive diver and coach. She began her diving career as a 12-year-old competing for Orienta Beach Club winning the 13 & U Westchester County Championship her first year and again at 17 during her final year of summer diving.

Achieving All-American status on four occasions while attending Iona College, her diving had moved to a much higher level competing nationally on both the 1M and 3M. In conclusion of her career with Iona she was awarded the highest, most prestigious award offered for an athlete at that time. The Joseph O’Connell Award was only awarded to the most successful Senior Female and Senior Male Athlete of the year.

Many years later as a young mother of 2 small boys, Maureen joined a Master’s Diving Club in San Diego, qualified for, and won the National Master’s meet held at the Woodlands in Texas home of Olympic champion Laura Wilkinson.

Moving back to Westchester, Maureen once again returned to the diving world as Head Diving coach at Scarsdale Town pool and then at NYAC where she continued to coach for 8 summers. During the winters she began coaching several high schools and a couple of winter programs including High Dive Champions and The Marlins.

Maureen’s professional career as Sales Representative in the Office Furniture industry took her away from coaching for many years. She is very excited to be coaching again with the Marlins this fall.
